Fed up with the strange behavior of their son, the Marleys agree to make one final attempt to reach him by hiring a pretty young widow, Mary Drake to serve as the boy's live-in tutor. Mary encounters a hostile and uncooperative student in Brian and their daily lessons soon become battle of wills.
